Every year on February 11...2-11...we celebrate 2-1-1 Day! It is a chance to increase awareness of the easy-to-remember three-digit telephone number which can be dialed anywhere in Ashtabula County to connect people in need with community, social, health and human service programs and resources.

Mom-To-Mom Support Group
Come to the Education Building to connect with other new, expectant and experienced moms in Ashtabula County! Meet with the team from WIC and the breastfeeding consultant from ACMC. Share your experiences with other moms! Free refreshments and food will be served. A monthly craft for you to take home will be available! Also, get pictures with Santa and take a gift home! Feel free to wear your holiday best or winter attire. No pre-registration required.

Reentry Resource Fair
3rd Annual Reentry Resource Fair Planned
Community Action will be hosting their 3rd Annual Reentry Resource Fair on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 9:00 AM-Noon. The fair will include vendor tables from local resources with information aimed at helping those reentering society and their families, such as: legal aid services; mental health providers; educational, vocational, and empowerment resources; basic needs assistance; and much more! Please join us in connecting individuals and their families with vital resources, strengthening our community, and reducing recidivism. Attendees do not have to be there directly at 9:00 AM in order to participate and are invited to attend anytime between 9:00 AM and noon that morning.
Admission is free. Registration is not required, but preferred.

Feeding the Hope
Community Action is proud to be a part of this great event along with many other local organizations and buisnesses! Several hubdred volunteers will come to the Faorgrounds to assemble 60,000 meals that will be donated to our local food pantries! This kicks off the Week of Hope.

Workshop 1- Introduction to Seasonal Eating
A four-part workshop series over the Ohio growing season (May to December). Join us to learn the basics of seasonal cooking on a budget. As the growing season progresses, we’ll work with fresh foods, herbs and wild edibles. Each attendee will receive a complimentary cookbook and take home dinner from each class. Class focuses include basic cooking skills, meal planning, local food shopping, and preservation.

Senior Citizens Conference
June 10th 2016 at Lakeside High School Community Action will be represented at the 9th Annual Senior Citizens Conference and what an event is planned for you. Are you interested in volunteering anywhere or working part-time? If so, we will be signing people up for opportunities available in Community Action's programs.
The Cumberland's will be gracing the stage with some smooth dance numbers and there will be a "Living with Purpose" forum just for you.

Welcome Back to WIC Party!
WIC will be hosting a “Welcome Back to WIC” party to encourage families with children up to age 5 to come in and restart their WIC services.
Activities will include food tastings and face painting! All children will receive a free gift. Families with children over the age of one receive food packages that include milk, eggs, cereal, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, juice, and other items for children with special medical needs. No more finger sticks and no more paper coupons make the WIC experience faster and more convenient than before!
New clients are also welcome. WIC provides nutrition education, nutritious foods, breastfeeding education and support to pregnant women and children from birth to age 5. WIC serves residents of Ashtabula County at 5 clinic locations in Ashtabula, Orwell, Jefferson, Geneva, and Conneaut. Families must meet income guidelines and be at risk for nutritional problems.
